The exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) are charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, and preventing cruelty to children or animals. WILL PRESERVE THE RITUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE ADAPTATION OF THE PULITZER PRIZE WINNING NOVEL,"TO KILL A ", BY HARPER LEE AS A PLAY IN MONROEVILLE, ALABAMA, AND SUCH OTHER LOCATIONS AS MAY BE AUTHORIZED FROM TIME TO TIME BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WILL INSURE THAT THE LITERARY SIGNIFICANCE AND THE HISTORICAL CONTRIBUTION MADE BY "TO KILL A " IN ITS DRAMATIZATION OF THE EVOLUTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE SOUTH WILL CONTINUE TO BE EXPERIENCED BY EVERYONE IN PERPETUITY. WILL CHARGE ADMISSION TO THE PERFORMANCES OF "TO KILL A AND UTILIZE THE NET PROCEEDS FROM SUCH TICKET SALES TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL SUPPORT TO ALABAMA COMMUNITIES AS DESIGNATED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, WITH PREFERENCE BEING GIVEN TO COMMUNITIES IN MONROE COUNTY, ALABAMA.

THE SPLC IS A CATALYST FOR RACIAL JUSTICE IN THE SOUTH AND BEYOND, WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITIES TO DISMANTLE WHITE SUPREMACY, STRENGTHEN INTERSECTIONAL MOVEMENTS, AND ADVANCE THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF ALL PEOPLE.
